Here are the online technical skills I've developed throughout planning and creating my magazine. There are some problems I've encountered as well throughout the project, hence this blog will explain briefly how I resolved these problems.
I was somewhat surprised on how easy and straightforward the task was. Since I've seen everywhere that code seems complicated, I frequently find the thought of coding on a website intimidating, but I can utilize it to accomplish simple tasks. Since I've seen everywhere that code seems complicated, I frequently find the thought of coding on a website intimidating, but I can utilize it to accomplish simple tasks. Despite the fact that the video tutorial was released in 2016 and hasn't received many views, I had no issue following along because it was brief and had clear instructions. Here in my blog, I have provided a detailed step-by-step procedure so that I can revisit it in case that I forget how to respond to this problem again. Because of this, I believe that the next time I have to code, I won't be worried since I know that there are always YouTube tutorials for any problem. If there aren't any tutorials available, I can always ask my teacher for help because his explanations are easy to understand and he always ensure that everyone can figure out the problems they run into.
Several of my blog posts (such as brief&statement of intent)needs to have an embeded file by embedding external content or another software (in this case, google documents and google slides) to my blog posts.
At first I had no idea on how to embed a file to a blog, so I listened to my teachers' explanation during class by following the steps on how to embed a file correctly. Here are the steps I've followed to embed the brief file onto my blog:
1.) Make a copy of the provided presentation (so that I can edit and share the file freely)
2.) Click "Share" and "Publish to web" of the google slides document. Make sure that "Anyone with the link" has access
3.) Copy the whole embed link of the file
4.) In the blogger page, open up "HTML View"
5.) Paste the link
6.) Click "Publish". The embedded file should like look this
Problem 2: Unable to resize embedded file into it's desired size
In my blog post forStatement of Intent, I had to embed a google document file onto my blog page. I tried to do with a "simple" embed link using my prior knowledge the teacher had taught me during class, as it worked perfectly fine when I tried to embed my google slides presentation to my blog page. However this time, this technique did not work well because I wasn't able to resize the image. As a result when it is published, it turned out small and hard to read.
Here I tried to paste my embed code from the document directly to my HTML page
But as I published the blog page, I was unable to change the size of the image file
In order to overcome this problem, I researched online on how to embed a file to blogger with it's desirable size and found a useful YouTube video that explained how to do it. Here are the steps that I followed in doing so:
1.) Paste the embed code to the HTML page view
2.) Before the >, press space and change the size of the document by adding "Width=... Height=..." (Here I decide change my size to width=800 height=1200)
3.) Click "Publish"
Now, the image file looks larger and visible enough for the readers to see easily

To begin, I searched up the most popular websites that are mostly used to create an online flip book. I saw this website called 'Flipsnack' and wanted to try out. A disadvantage from this website is that in order to create a flip book using existing pages of my magazine, I would have to insert them to each page one by one and adjust the size, this would affect the quality of my image to worsen as well as taking more time. Another problem for my magazine is that the maximum number of pages I can use is 4-5 pages (including front and back) in which all of my magazine pages won't fit. Furthermore, I've only given 14 days of free trial which means that I would have to find another website to use that are free and convenient to use.
I found another website to use called 'Heyzine'.
One issue I had with this was that I couldn't add any more pages, and I found it unusual that it could only have one page. I made the decision to look for a video tutorial that would enable me to create my magazine flip book. Below are the steps I've followed:
1.) Go to Canva (my design software), gather all my pages into one file
2.) Click 'share design' then choose 'Heyzine' (This website is already connected to Canva hence it can be published automatically)
3.) It will redirect my page to Heyzine and all my pages now are compiled automatically into a flip book
Overall, this method is way efficient and easier for me to create a flip book in one go.
